HOW IT WORKS
- Start with a 200 hour Yoga Alliance registered training, such as EYS's 200 hour training.
- Complete 2 core modules - Core Summer and Core Winter (does not have to be taken in a specific order).
- 120 hours of elective credit, allowing you to select your area of expertise. Electives and concurrent certifications can be earned for Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT), RECESS+ Kids Yoga, and Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy. See current elective courses.
- A self paced 40 hour mentorship that allows you to select your mentor of choice and build a relationship with them with the help of EYS mentoring guidelines.
- An individualized home project that helps define you as a yoga teacher; e.g. create a class series for veterans, go teach the series, and write a report based on your experience.
- Students have 2 years from their first class to complete the program and must be enrolled in a Core Module to earn elective credits toward the 300 hour certification.
Prerequisites
- Graduated from an approved 200 hour yoga teacher training
- Have an established regular yoga practice
- You are required to document 100 teaching hours to be eligible for Yoga Alliance credit (can be done before, during or after the program), we strongly recommend you begin teaching as soon as possible. It can be public or private classes; individuals or groups; free or for a charge.
